MacYaps is a fully local Mac app. It does not track you, collect analytics, or sell any data. All audio triggers and custom sounds are processed entirely on your device. The only network activity is for license validation and update checks. This website uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use the site; you can opt out via the consent banner.
The MacYaps app does not collect, transmit, or store any of the following:
There are no analytics libraries, tracking pixels, or third-party trackers in the app.
All triggers (low battery, charger events, WiFi changes, high CPU, etc.) are detected and processed locally on your Mac. No event data ever leaves your device.
When you add your own audio files or use custom voice packs:
MacYaps stores your preferences (enabled triggers, selected voice packs, volume, custom sound mappings, etc.) locally using macOS UserDefaults. This data never leaves your computer.
MacYaps makes minimal network requests:

It does not access your microphone, camera, location, contacts, photos, or any other sensitive data.
This website uses Google Analytics 4 with Google Consent Mode: analytics measurement is on by default so we can see how people find the site, while advertising storage is always off. If you click Decline in the consent banner, analytics cookies are disabled and the site works fully without them. Google's privacy policy applies when data is collected: policies.google.com/privacy.
MacYaps does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. Since the app collects no personal data, this section is largely not applicable.
We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. Continued use of MacYaps after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
